How much will my marbles card cost me?

With marbles the only cost for purchases will be interest on your outstanding balance if you choose not to pay it off by the date that its due.

Will I have to pay interest every month?

That depends on how much you owe us at the end of each month. You can get up to 56 days interest free credit but if you do choose not to pay your balance off in full each month, you will be charged at the rate of interest shown on your statement each month (located underneath your Minimum Payment amount). From time to time we may also offer you promotional balance transfer rates for which a 3% BT fee is payable, minimum £5.

Can I shift balances from other cards I hold?

You can easily shift balances from your other credit and store cards by visiting our website and completing the on-line balance transfer function. Alternatively we will send you some cheques for use with your account, and you can use these to settle other accounts. The balance transfer offer does not apply to balances transferred from credit card and store cards issued by members of the HSBC Group. HSBC Group means HSBC Holdings plc, its subsidiaries, associated and affiliated companies and includes first direct.

Is the online account service free?

Some banks charge for using their on-line service, but using the marbles on-line account service is free, except for the cost of your connection to the Internet.

Can I request a specific credit limit?

We will automatically set a credit limit for your account and this will be advised to you when we send you your card. We will endeavour to match any existing credit limit that you have on other cards. If you would like us to consider this, please send us a copy of your existing card statement when you return the signed Agreement to us.

Can I choose a statement date that suits me?

We automatically allocate a statement date to your account - usually approximately a month after your account is opened. If this date is inconvenient for you, you can select another date by visiting our website. Your first change of statement date is free, after that we will charge you £10 each time a change is made.

How often are my balances updated?

The service is linked to the Bank's mainframe computer so you will see transactions as soon as we do. However, please bear in mind that our computers are updated when retailers post transactions which may be a few days after any purchase you have made.
